Call for Posters
Are you involved in an interesting project or in an area of work that you would like to share or discuss with other Canadian Autism Leadership Summit (CALS) attendees? Do you work at an organization that offers services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Why not present your work or organization in the CALS Poster Sessions?
In order to increase awareness of different service programs across Canada, this year we are seeking posters that showcase organizations offering services to individuals with ASD, in addition to posters that examine promising practices in research supporting individuals with ASD.
Organization posters should reflect programs and/or services for individuals with ASD in Canada. The following details should be included:
- Location of organization and service zone;
- Services offered;
- Target clients (e.g., children, adults);
- Any innovative projects, particularly those related to the research areas detailed below.
Research posters should reflect innovative ASD-related research with a focus on of the following areas:
- Early identification and early intervention;
- Interventions and services to optimize quality of life at all ages;
- Specialized medical care, including access to dental and mental health services;
- Education, including transitions to work, post-secondary education and independent life.
All submissions must be received by 5pm EST on Friday, January 25th, 2019.
Please note: In order to support active networking and information sharing, poster presenters are encouraged to attend CALS. CALS has a very modest budget and poster presenters must register for the event. CALS is pleased to offer a special presenter rate of $175.
Presenters of a poster will be expected to be present from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, April 3th in order to explain their poster and to hand out any leaflets, or other information materials, they have available for viewers of their poster. Each presenter can therefore only present one poster. Any organization that submits more than one application should indicate a priority to their submissions or confirm there will be enough staff members available for the presentation.
All Poster Proposals are subject to approval by CALS’s Planning Committee. The Summit agenda is still in development and details are subject to change.
Details about the required poster format are provided here
Questions can be directed to Richard Kerkhoven at email@example.com
Please note the posters promoting the sale of commercial goods or services will not be accepted.
