Call for Autistic Self-Advocates

CASDA is looking for autistic self-advocates to help plan the 2020 Canadian Autism Leadership Summit by joining the Lived Experience Subcommittee. The subcommittee will meet regularly (likely every week or two between late November and late February), and will be responsible for promoting opportunities for those with lived autism experience to participate in the 2020 Summit being held in Ottawa on April 20 and 21, 2020.

Subcommittee members will plan multiple opportunities for self-advocates, and parents of autistic kids/adults to participate in the Summit, both in person and remotely (e.g. prerecorded videos). Subcommittee members will also review all expressions of interest for presenting at the Summit and who will receive travel funding.

Subcommittee members will receive free registration at the 2020 Leadership Summit, should they wish to attend.

This committee is ideal for autistics who would like to have a say in what happens at the Summit, but aren’t looking to participate themselves this year.
