CALS 2020: Coronavirus Impact Advisory

Based on current travel advisories there are no plans to postpone or cancel the 2020 CALS in Ottawa taking place in April. CASDA is taking developments concerning coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously. The health, safety, and well-being of attendees is our top priority. We are paying close attention to direction from the Public Health Agency of Canada and the World Health Organization on the specifics of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). At the current time, there are no programming changes scheduled for the Summit and it will continue as planned.

Please note that there are no travel restrictions to Canada nor any other limitations for public events at this time. We will provide further updates to participants as they become available and will continue to monitor the situation closely and will adapt plans accordingly should this change.

Healthy Travel Practices

Whether travelling locally or from abroad, healthy habits should be practiced at all times. During seasons with a higher risk of illness, follow these precautionary steps to help prevent the spread of infection:

  • Thoroughly wash hands or use alcohol-based sanitizer
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing, sneezing or blowing nose. Put used tissue in the garbage. If no tissue available, cough or sneeze into sleeve, not hands.
  • Stay up-to-date on vaccinations
  • Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
